The IADEA Annual Conference – 2020
Welcome to the 3rd Annual Indian Art and Design Educators Association’s (IADEA) Conference, 2020!! In light of the heroic role art educators have played in rising to the challenge of this year’s pandemic, our theme for our 2020 annual conference is ‘Create Joy’. At this year’s conference we will launch a unique resource for the Indian Art Educator Community.
The Indian Art and Design Educators Association is a non-profit started in 2018 with the goal of providing learning and knowledge sharing opportunities for art educators across the country. Our members are over 350 art educators from 28 cities in India – these teachers collectively impact over 2,00,000 school children. The IADEA annual national conference is a shared platform attended by over 200 art educators that was held first in Mumbai and then in Delhi last year. This year with the conference being virtual we expect over 500 participants.
The three-day conference will include workshops and presentations by national and international professionals like museum educators, contemporary artists, teachers, policy makers and other stakeholders from the field of art education. They will unpack these challenges, while demonstrating examples of bringing back joy to our classrooms virtually. Over the course of 1.5 hours on 3 days, in the form of 6 workshop sessions we have 6 professionals presenting and conducting workshops online.
