The 6th Annual art educators conference was held at the Kalakshetra auditorium, Chennai on January 31st and February 1st 2025. 

The 2-day conference was attended by over 80 art educators from Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Ranipet, Kanyakumari, Jaipur, Delhi, Ajmer, Bengaluru and more.  Our theme for the year was Rethink Art Class.

The Camlin Art teacher excellence awards highlighted teachers who have put a lot of effort into creating thoughtfully designed art lessons. 85+ unique art lessons were submitted by art teachers across India.

A Panel Discussion was conducted on ‘What success look like in art class’ . The panel members, including teacher, curriculum designer, school administration and policy making brought their broad perspective to the conversation. Key points of discussion included integrating local art forms in the classroom, support for art from school management, art as a form of non-judgmental expression for children.

The participants were also taken on a special curator led tour of selected Chennai photo biennale photography exhibits at Lalit Kala Academy and Egmore museum. The tour was led by Gayatri Nair, Co-founder and Director of Education at CPB prism and Varun Gupta, Biennale Director at CPB.
