Art Teacher Excellence Awards 2018

In recognition of some of the extraordinary work that art educators are doing across India, we presented the “Art Teacher Excellence Awards” to 13 educators. These awards are for specific projects and initiatives in the field of visual arts education. 55 submissions were received. The judges were Mr R.M Palaniappan retired director of the Lalith Kala Chennai and Harry Hancock art educator and Artist from Barcelona.

Innovation in The Art Room

Encouraging and supporting wide-ranging exploration, interpretation and expression of personal ideas, thoughts and experiences.

Winner – Laura Martin

Runner Up – Devaki Rao
Canadian International School, Bengaluru

Best use of Elements of Art

Elements of Art used effectively to create a strong/ dynamic composition.

Promoting Artistic Process

Encouraging a wide range of ideas with sketches and media to show how the final work will look. A systematic investigation with thorough reviewing, modifying and refining as the work progresses.

Collaboration in the Art Room
