An interactive curator led virtual walkthrough of three exhibitions at Kiran Nadar Museum of Art. This was an inspiration for the next art lesson plan on this walk specially curated for art educators. It covered three exhibitions, each with their unique take on abstraction. ‘Zarina: A Life in Nine Lines | Across Decades – Borders – Geographies’ was a solo show dedicated to the artistic career of Zarina Hashmi. This show explored primarily Zarina’s works on paper and notions of home in a poetically minimal visual language. The second show was ‘Line, Beats and Shadows’ presented by artists Ayesha Sultana, Prabhavathi Meppayil, Lala Rukh and Sumakshi Singh and their eclectic interpretation of abstraction. The event ended with ‘Abstracting Nature’ an exhibition of works by Mrinalini Mukherjee and Jayashree Chakravarty which explores their connection with nature using hemp rope sculptures or organic materials.
The tour ended with a Q & A with the curators.
